METALLICA Bassist Talks To Arizona's FOX 10 About 'Through The Never' Movie (Video)

METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo visited the studios of Fox 10 (KSAZ-TV) in Phoenix, Arizona last week to talk about the band's new movie, "Metallica Through The Never". You can watch video footage of his appearance below.

"Metallica Through The Never" officially opened on September 27 for an exclusive week-long run on IMAX screens before expanding to other theaters on October 4. The film's surreal narrative winds its way through the concert footage, in which a roadie played by Dane DeHaan finds himself in an increasingly hostile urban environment while on a mission for the band. Trujillo told The Pulse Of Radio what he thinks it all means. "My take on it is there's two worlds," he said. "When you're in a concert venue with METALLICA, it could seem like the most perfect environment. But beyond those walls of the venue, you have mayhem and it could be anything. It could be anarchy. There are problems beyond those walls that exist with what's happening in that bubble of, you know, this perfect world of music and metal."

Financed by the METALLICA members themselves at a budget of $18 million, "Metallica Through The Never" is the first new release via Picturehouse, the full-service independent film marketing and distribution company started in 2005, which reopened its doors with founder Bob Berney at the helm. The film was written and directed by Nimród Antal ("Kontroll", "Predators").

The soundtrack, which features a number of METALLICA classics performed live in the movie, was released on September 24. The two-disc CD came out on METALLICA's own label, Blackened Recordings, also in digital and vinyl formats.
